Shanmuga (Priya) Rajeswaran is the lead guide at Trillium Montessori in Cumming, bringing over 17 years of teaching experience and a lifelong passion for guiding young children. Originally from India, she holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics and Computer Applications, as well as an Early Childhood Education credential from the Montessori Teacher Education Institute of Atlanta (AMS). She has also completed the "Leading Your Program" Professional Development Director Training Certificate, approved by Bright from the Start in Georgia.
Ms. Priya moaved to the United States in 2002, where her journey with Montessori education began. As a parent, she witnessed the benefits of Montessori firsthand when her son began his early education in a Montessori setting. Volunteering at his school sparked her deep interest in early childhood education, and in 2009, she officially joined the field.
Over the years, she has taught in various Montessori settings, each experience deepening her belief in the power of mixed-age classrooms and hands-on, child-led learning. Ms. Priya loves teaching children something new and exciting each day and takes special pride in guiding them toward independence, confidence, and compassion.
Her favorite part of Montessori education is supporting children in becoming independent learners and peaceful leaders within their communities. She has thoughtfully designed a program that empowers children to resolve conflicts peacefully, care for themselves and their environment, and grow into responsible global citizens. Ms. Priya lives with her husband and is a proud mother to her son, who is currently studying Neuroscience as a third-year Pre-Med student at Georgia Tech. Outside the classroom, she enjoys hiking, walking, and cycling—activities that keep her grounded and connected to nature.
